The picture that led to this page is me with my acting teacher, Jeanie Hackett. Sadly, Jeanie passed recently, but the imprint of her teaching lives on with those who were lucky enough to be called her students. Jeanie was a fierce advocate for the art, not the business. She was simultaneously a teacher, but also a friend and therapist. She demanded a lot, but gave so much more. She was kind, fierce, loving, and a passionate advocate for potential - for her students and humanity as a whole. I miss her terribly.

Her clarity often ran into my stubbornness - and I was molded as a result. She once told me I was a burr in her side - in a good way. I relished in this identity, finding ways to terrorize her with playful pranks.

The fact that I placed her picture on the front of a “resume” section is another example of the nature of our relationship. I can see Jeanie rolling her eyes in heaven - and it makes me smile. So, consider this her tribute - to all she put into me to allow for the success I’ve had…and to all the joy I gained from giving her a hard time all the way.
